Walking Appin

The best way, by far, to experience the natural beauty of North Argyll is to take a walk. Whether you decide to take a stroll along the bottom of sea cliffs on a raised beach, climb to the lofty heights of Beinn Sgulaird and Beinn Fhionnlaidh, or anything in between, WALKING APPIN has something to offer.

Appin to Ballachulish Path   Walking from Appin to Ballachulish
For those of you who prefer not to explore on their own, WALKING APPIN will guide you and your group on any of our listed walks or on an alternative route of your choice.

View from Beinn Churalain   Ship in the rock
Discover the old coffin road to the ancient graveyard on Ben Churalain and visit the mysterious 'healing wells' and carving of a ship in a rock.
Well of the Knee   Well of the Eye (Closed)  St Cairell's Well  Fairy-Bridge, Fasnacloich
Follow old hill tracks through the glens to Duror or Ballachulish.

Chequered Skipper Butterfly   Pearl Bordered Fritillary  Unidentified Moth
Explore Glasdrum Nature Reserve, home to the Chequered Skipper and other rare butterflies.

Sea Eagle Chick (BeingTagged)  Cuil Bay from Beinn Sgluich  Glencoe
Watch for otters, seals and Sea Eagles on the banks of Loch Creran and Loch Linnhe. Our guided walks vary in length and difficulty, from easy strolls on roads or well trodden paths, to all day hill-walking tours of Argyll and Lochaber's Munros and Corbetts.
For prices and further information, please use our Contacts Page.

Strong footwear, waterproof clothing, map and compass are essential for all walks.
Most of our guided walks are by nature off road and over rough ground. We recommend that our clients adequately insure themselves for such activities.
Clach Thoull (The Holed Rock)  Fasnacloich, Appin  Glen Stockdale

We (Les and Issy) were both born and raised in Scotland and moved to the Appin area in 2000. We are both qualified Mountain Leaders and between us have explored every upland area of Scotland. Our idea of a holiday is walking 200+ miles across Scotland with a tent (from west coast to east coast), taking in several mountains on the way. We have also walked in the Dolomites and Alps. After several approaches to us by local hoteliers and other bodies, we decided to set up WALKING APPIN to encourage others (both local and visitors) to get out and explore their surrounding countryside on foot.

We look forward to you joining us on a walk and introducing you to some of the natural beauty that is North Argyll.
